Sunrise Centre employs medical providers that can help you begin your recovery journey safely. Our medical team is available to monitor and support clients in active withdrawal throughout the withdrawal and detoxification process. Our team prioritizes safety, symptom management and reduction, and supports the dignity and comfort of our clients to the best of our ability. The detoxification services and length of stay are based on the individual needs of the client.
Residential Treatment
Sunrise Centre has a 41-bed residential treatment facility. Located in northeast Michigan, Sunrise Centre has both a male residence and a female residence and provides individualized person-centered treatment services to adults age 18 and over. The length of stay is dependent on the needs of the individual client and may range from 30 days to 120 days. During their stay, residents engage in intensive treatment services including group therapy, individual therapy, case management services, peer support services, access to recovery support group meetings, and medication management support from the medical team.
Clients collaborate with their Care Manager to develop a personalized treatment plan and work towards goals that support their healing and recovery journey. Treatment services at Sunrise Centre include: life skills training, relapse prevention education and planning, health and wellness education, literacy support and GED preparation, parenting education, family services, and access to Clinical staff trained in EMDR. Sunrise Centre utilizes evidence-based curriculums and offers groups that include Seeking Safety, Helping Men Recover, Helping Women Recover, and other gender specific groups and curriculums supporting recovery from both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Sunrise Centre also offers residents the opportunity to participate in a range of holistic services and activities during their stay including yoga, sound healing, community-based support groups, gym and recreational activity access, participation in recovery events, and other opportunities to build a toolbox full of strategies that support a life in recovery.
Outpatient Treatment Services
Sunrise Centre aims to support individuals along a continuum of care based on their treatment needs. Sunrise Centre offers outpatient treatment services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Outpatient treatment services are designed to meet the individual needs of the client and include outpatient group therapy and individual therapy. Frequency of attendance and intensity of participation is based on the treatment needs of the client and can include participation in Intensive Outpatient Treatment services or a less intensive level of care.
Clients engaged in outpatient treatment services have access to case management support and peer recovery coaching support. Sunrise Centre values collaboration with community partners to ensure that clients are supported across the many services they may be involved in to support their healing journey. Sunrise Centre collaborates with the Drug Court Treatment team to support clients involved in the treatment court system. All services provided at Sunrise Centre are confidential. A person can trust that participation in treatment will be kept confidential and collaborations and coordination will only occur if a person signs a release of information authorizing that collaboration.
Early Intervention, Training, Consultation, and Education
Sunrise Centre is licensed as a provider of Early Intervention services. We offer case management support and early intervention support to individuals and families with risk factors for substance use disorders. Sunrise Centre offers training, consultation, and education support on the topics of substance use and co-occurring conditions, treatment, and recovery. Sunrise Centre values and strives to support and strengthen recovery supportive communities.
We hope to continue to reduce the stigma and barriers that impact those with substance use and mental health disorders. That includes ensuring that individuals, organizations, and communities have access to opportunities to learn about these conditions. Sunrise Centre participates in, supports, and hosts educational opportunities, community events, training opportunities, and consultation services. Sunrise Centre staff often present at conferences, panel events, and collaborate with partners across the state to advocate for and address the needs of the population we serve.
